Escape Room FAQ
WHAT IS AN ESCAPE ROOM?
An escape room is a live action-adventure. You will be “locked-in” while you work with your team to find clues, solve puzzles, open locks, and escape! Learn more about what escape rooms are here.
DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR MY ENTIRE GROUP AHEAD OF TIME?
Yes. To minimize contact between our staff and your group, we are requesting all payments to be handled fully in advance of your booking. If your numbers change, give us a call! For any players that are no longer able to make it, we will issue a refund. For any additional players, we will charge the credit card on file, with your permission.
WHAT’S YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
We allow for cancellations and reschedules 48 hours prior to your booking. If you cancel within 48 hours of your booking, you will forfeit your game, and no refund will be issued. If you need to reschedule due to COVID-19 symptoms within the 48-hour window, you will be able to reschedule, without penalty.
ARE THE DOORS TO YOUR GAMES LOCKED?
No! They are never locked. You’re always able to leave the room in case of an emergency or if you need to use the restroom!
HOW LONG DOES THE ESCAPE ROOM TAKE?
Our games are designed to take about an hour to complete if you’re lucky.
HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN PLAY IN THE ESCAPE ROOM?
We recommend a team size of between 1-10 people for 3 out of 4 of our games. We have room that is smaller and can only accommodate 5 people as to not make the room feel overly crowded.
IF I BOOK A GAME, WILL I BE PUT IN WITH PEOPLE I DON'T KNOW?
No! We have decided to make all of our games private bookings. This means, as soon as there is a booking made for the game, no one else will be able to join your group. It will just be you and your team playing the game.
WHAT IS THE COST?
Games are $20 (+HST) per person. Children under 5 are free, children 12 or older can play in the escape room without a parent or guardian but must have the waiver signed by one.
ARE ESCAPE ROOMS SCARY?
For the most part, no. We try to keep our games to a family-friendly theme so everyone can have a great time! We do have some rooms that might have non-spooky prank style jump scares.
ARE THERE ANY AGE RESTRICTIONS FOR PLAYING A GAME?
We have a minimum age of 5 for those that will participate in the game, children under 5 are free for the escape. We do ask that kids under the age of 11 be accompanied by at least one adult while playing the game.
WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
Sweet Escapes is located at 324 North Front Street Belleville, Ontario, right across from Benton Fry Ford.
DO YOU TAKE WALK-INS?
Yes! However, booking fill up fast especially on the week end and the time and room you're looking for might be booked by the time you come in. You are more than welcome to call ahead and we can pencil you for a time and room that's open.
